Native Australian Sturt Desert Pea (Swainsona formosa)
Adopted as the state of South Australias floral emblem, it can be found in all states in mainland Australia except Victoria and native to the arid regions of central and north-western Australia.
Growing in in arid woodlands and open plains known to withstand the extreme heat and inland deserts of Australia it primarily flowers after large rains from Spring to Summer.
This artwork has been created from an original illustration by myself Nicole Taylor-Stone. The drawing is then transferred to the reverse side of the paper and carefully hand cut from the single paper sheet by surgical blades. The remaining paper creates the black graphical image.
Original paper cut size: 130mm wide x 180mm height Finished frame size: 183mm x 230mm x 36mm Material: Black Mi-Teintes cotton rag paper, 2 glass layers, untreated natural finish pine frame
This item is available framed between two layers of glass in a floating style untreated natural finish pine frame. This framing style allows for the piece to be hung on a wall or free standing on a table surface, allowing light to pass through the design to express its detail and view the makers process.
As each artwork is created entirely by hand each design and I endeavour to repeat the design as close as possible will never be identical and may differ slightly from each other as well as the images provided. You will receive this design in concept and each piece is assured to be completely unique for you!
